Background

With Jack on the road a lot with his job, he gradually shifted into living opportunistically in short-term rentals around the country and world. While he wasn’t ready to commit to a primary home, he still wanted to invest in property and have a home base that he could ski in the winters and hike in the summers. He loves that Summer has de-risked the investment for him by allowing him to gradually invest in a home with the option to buy it or pull out down the line.

Home wish list

  • Near the mountains for skiing and hiking, but close to an airport
  • Charming exterior with recently updated interior
  • Enough room to invite family or friends for the weekend
  • In-demand housing market with appreciating home values

“I was attracted by the end-to-end home diligence experience that Summer provided. They were able to put in a bid and buy the home within a matter of days.”

A note about design

The overall vibe we were going for was a modern mix of rustic and contemporary, fusing rustic materials like reclaimed wood, aged brass, and marble with a high contrast color palette that would add that modern edge. We also layered in rich textiles like boucle, linen, velvet, and hide to create a sense that you could still be wrapped in a cozy, warm, luxe hug amongst these snowy mountains.

New flooring added along with updated bed frame and ceiling fan
Updated the hardware and bathroom vanity to match the aesthetic of rest of the home

“The design process was seamless. When I saw the house for the first time I was over the moon.”
